Two senior practitioners with decades of combined experience closing major entertainment deals. We do not assign your matter to associates — you work directly with us.
Brian Alexander is a founding attorney of Bliss Legal Studio, PC, bringing over 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry. He is an entertainment attorney and senior business affairs executive whose career spans representation, management, and in-house leadership at some of the industry's most recognizable companies.
Most recently, Brian served as Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs at Universal Music Group's Polygram Entertainment, where he led all film and television dealmaking for the division. During his eight-year tenure — spanning two successive three-year contracts — he closed two of the largest documentary sales in the market: Selena y Los Dinos to Netflix ($7M) and Man on the Run to Amazon ($11M), negotiated a $2M producing fee for a Bob Marley docuseries at Netflix, structured a first-look deal with Lionsgate, and built premium distribution partnerships with Netflix, Amazon, HBO, and Apple. He played a central role in establishing Polygram Entertainment as a credible premium documentary and music-driven content player.
Prior to UMG, Brian held senior roles at Viacom, Discovery Communications (two separate stints), and Magical Elves, the production company behind Top Chef and Project Runway. Earlier in his career he worked at ICM Partners and two boutique talent agencies, developing a deep understanding of the representation landscape that informs his transactional practice to this day.
Brian passed the California Bar in 2015 and has practiced entertainment law in conjunction with his business affairs career ever since. He advises clients on the full spectrum of film and television transactions — from development and production through distribution and platform licensing — with particular expertise in documentary and music-driven content.
