1. About this Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Bliss Legal Studio, PC ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information in connection with the website at blisslegalstudio.com (the "Site"). It also describes the rights available to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the "CCPA").

This Policy applies only to personal information collected through the Site. Information you share with us in the course of legal representation, or that we receive while evaluating a potential engagement, is protected by the California Rules of Professional Conduct, applicable privilege and work product doctrines, and your written engagement agreement, not by this Policy.

2. Categories of Personal Information We Collect

In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, as those categories are defined in California Civil Code section 1798.140:

Identifiers, such as name, email address, telephone number (if provided), and IP address.
Internet or other electronic network activity information, such as browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps.
Geolocation information, limited to approximate location derived from IP address, used for security and aggregate analytics.
Professional or employment-related information, only where you voluntarily include it in an inquiry.

We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA through the Site. We do not collect biometric, genetic, health, financial account, precise geolocation, government identifier, login credential, or similar sensitive categories.

3. Sources of Personal Information

We obtain personal information from the following sources:

Directly from you, when you submit a contact form or email the firm.
Automatically from your device, when you interact with the Site.
From our service providers, including our web host and analytics provider (Cloudflare).

4. Business and Commercial Purposes

We use personal information for the following business and commercial purposes:

To respond to inquiries and communications you send to us.
To evaluate potential engagements and perform conflicts checks as required by the California Rules of Professional Conduct.
To maintain, secure, debug, and improve the Site and detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized access.
To comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and ethical obligations, including recordkeeping obligations.
For internal analytics to understand how the Site is used.

5. How We Share Personal Information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined by the CCPA. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve (12) months, and we have no plans to do so.

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:

Service providers and contractors, such as our web host, content delivery network, security provider, analytics provider (Cloudflare), and email provider, acting on our behalf under written agreements that restrict their use of personal information to the services they provide.
Legal, regulatory, and professional authorities, when required by law, court order, subpoena, or to respond to a legal process, or to comply with our professional and ethical obligations.
Successors, in the event of a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to confidentiality obligations and this Policy or a successor policy.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site uses a limited set of cookies and similar technologies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless, and Cloudflare's security infrastructure, which may set short-lived, strictly necessary cookies (for example, __cf_bm or cf_clearance) to distinguish humans from automated traffic. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-context behavioral advertising technologies. For details, please see our Cookie Policy.

7. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy and to comply with applicable legal, ethical, and recordkeeping obligations, including the two-year advertising record retention required by California Rule of Professional Conduct 7.2 and recordkeeping obligations imposed by the California State Bar. We securely destroy personal information when it is no longer needed.

8. Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights with respect to personal information we collect about you, subject to verification and applicable exceptions under the CCPA:

Right to know. You may request disclosure of (i) the categories of personal information we have collected, (ii) the categories of sources, (iii) the business or commercial purposes for collection, (iv) the categories of third parties with whom we have disclosed the information, and (v) the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
Right to delete. You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to exceptions under California Civil Code section 1798.105(d), including our need to retain information to comply with legal obligations and professional recordkeeping rules.
Right to correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
Right to opt out of sale or sharing. As noted above, we do not sell or share personal information. If this changes, we will update this Policy and provide a clear mechanism to opt out.
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect or use sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger this right.
Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. You will receive the same service and quality as any other visitor.
Right to data portability. As part of the right to know, you may request your personal information in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format.

Opt-Out Preference Signals. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. If your browser or an extension transmits a GPC signal, we will not set optional analytics technologies and will treat the signal as an opt-out request.

How to Submit a Request. To exercise any of your rights, email us at info@blisslegalstudio.com with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line, a brief description of your request, and sufficient information for us to verify your identity. We will acknowledge receipt within ten (10) business days and will respond to verifiable requests within forty-five (45) days. If more time is reasonably necessary, we may extend this period by an additional forty-five (45) days and will notify you of the extension.

Authorized Agents. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. To do so, the agent must provide written proof of your authorization (for example, a signed permission letter or power of attorney), and we may require you to verify your identity directly with us before responding.

9. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of thirteen (13) in compliance with the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and we do not knowingly sell or share personal information of minors under the age of sixteen (16). If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

10. Do-Not-Track Signals

Some browsers transmit "do not track" signals. Because there is no industry standard for how to respond to these signals, we do not act on them. We do, however, honor the Global Privacy Control signal described above.

11. California Shine the Light Disclosure

California Civil Code section 1798.83 permits California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

12. Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet.

13. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party website you visit.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, service providers, or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, communicated through other channels.
